AT THE HEART
OF OUR MISSION

OUR PURPOSE

Why We Exist

For 50 years, St. Joseph Center has stood alongside neighbors facing crisis, meeting people where they are and walking with them toward stability. This work is rooted in a simple belief: every person deserves dignity, and community care is the foundation of social justice.

That belief shapes how we serve. We address immediate needs while building pathways to healing, housing stability, and opportunity. When we see the whole person, meaningful change becomes possible.

Radical Care

We center healing, empathy, and humanity, especially for those most affected by harm, inequity, and poverty.

Our Focus

Turning Care
Into Action

St. Joseph Center’s mission comes to life through care that is deeply human, grounded in dignity, and responsive to the realities people face across Los Angeles. We focus on the outcomes that matter most to individuals, youth, and families: nourishment, stability, healing, and long-term well-being.

We carry this commitment forward through three interconnected ways of showing up for our community: Nourish, House, and Empower.
