The Beginning of a Conversation

These coming weeks will mark the beginning of important conversations about how we heal, rebuild, and empower communities across Los Angeles. At St. Joseph Center, we believe the most effective solutions to ending homelessness come from those closest to the crisis—those working tirelessly on the frontlines and those who have lived through it. That’s why we’re proud to launch From the Frontlines, a new publication featuring powerful stories and insights written by St. Joseph Center’s frontline staff, community members, and people experiencing homelessness—individuals who bring firsthand knowledge to the table.

Uplifting Voices Too Often Overlooked

This publication aims to provide a platform for voices often overlooked in broader policy conversations. Each piece offers a unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities in addressing homelessness, grounded in lived expertise and daily service. Whether highlighting workforce development initiatives tailored to Black Angelenos, showcasing compassionate approaches to family services, or exploring culturally relevant mental health programs, From The Frontlines brings real-time learnings from the field to inform and inspire systemic change.

Policy Briefs and Partnerships

I’m proud to share that we are publishing a series of policy briefs developed in partnership with the USC Homelessness Policy Research Institute and our Lived-Expert Policy Advisory Board. Together, we’re fostering a deeper understanding of the barriers facing our communities and the innovative approaches that can create lasting impact.
